Golf Instruction Body Alignment
Good body alignment will help you develop a good swing path, which will improve your strike. Test if your alignment is good by going down the practise range and setup up to a target of your choice. Once you are comfortable in your setup, take your club and place it on the floor across your feet, stand directly behind the ball and see where the shaft is pointing, it should point left and parallel to your desired target. A lot of people are surprised when they get this wrong. The golf swing will follow the line of your body and if your body is in the wrong place, you will be swinging down the wrong line. To correct this problem is easy just place a club down on the floor between your feet and the ball parallel and left of your target, when you set up position your feet, knees hips, and shoulders parallel to the line on the floor, this will get you swinging the club down the target line and improve your accuracy. An image you can use is feel like you are standing on a set of railway tracks, your club face pointing directly down the outer line, and you feet, knees, hips, and shoulders are positioned on the inner line.
Have you got good Eye Alignment
This is a vital part of setting the body correctly, people can put a club down on the floor correctly position there body correctly, but when they look at the target, they will often feel that they are aiming somewhere completely different! This is because when they are looking at the ball their eyes are parallel to the target line, however when the look at the target their eye line changes completely, try this drill to learn how to turn your head and look at the target correctly. Once you have positioned the club on the floor and position the body correctly take the club and hold it about 6 inches from your eyes so that the butt end of the club points down the practise range. turn your head so that your eyes follow the line of the shaft, you will see your target window much more clearly and a little practise with this drill will really help you focus on the target correctly when you are out on the golf course.
