Adam Scott down the line view
Set-up and Takeaway. Balanced, strong and ready to move, great posture angles which are essential to provide balance. Takeaway-we can see how the triangle formed in his set-up has been kept with a little hip and shoulder turn. Note how the clubhead is positioned outside the hands.
Wristhinge and backswing. The wrists have hinged so that the club shaft points in-between his feet and the ball. His hands are positioned in the centre of his chest. At the top of the swing we can see all of his chest, which indicates a good shoulder turn, The hips have turned 45 degrees and note how the right knee has kept its flex. There is no lack of resistance in this swing and he is in a superb position to start the downswing. The left arm is comfortable straight with the right elbow folded at the elbow supporting the club.
The Magic move and impact. The start of the swing is initiated by a lateral movement to the left and a rotation in the left hip. The hands and arms get a free ride and dont do much to put the club into this position. See how much the club has been held back by the wrists, this is how Adam stores his amazing power late into the downswing. Note how the hips have opened to the target whist the shoulders are still closed. Great Torque in the late stages of his downswing! At impact you can see that the right foot has rolled slightly to the inside of the foot with the heel slightly off the floor. Note how his shoulders are perfectly square to his target line with his head remaining behind the strike.

Extension and follow through The extension really shows up how much the hips are open at this point and you an also note how the spine is still in the same angle as Adams set-up. The torso has unwinded aggressivley towards the target and the head is still positioned behind the strike it has rotated with the bodies movement, it doesn't stay perfectly still. The follow through shows how Adam has turned right through towards the target his hips or belt buckle is actually pointing left of his target indicating power. He has become taller or if you like come out of the shot freely with the club shaft at a shallow angle around the back of his neck. His knees are together. A great swing!
