THE PRE SHOT ROUTINE
When we play this great game we constantly find ourselves in unfamiliar positions.
To get the best out of your game you have to access certain aspects such as club selection, what is my lie like, where is the wind, where is the trouble?
Once you have made you decision and pulled your club from the bag you still have the task of hitting the shot you have picked and a good pre-shot routine is vital to help you get the best possible shot you can hit.
Follow these guide lines and you will be shooting lower scores in no time.
Start to breath- People tend to stop breathing before a shot which clouds the mind and overly tenses the muscles.
Pick a spot - aim to a blade of grass or a leave or anything that will catch your eye, it is easier to aim at a target a couple of feet in front of the ball which is on your target line instead of a target 200 yards away.
Set-up to impress- Build a strong preparatory position especially stance and posture and make sure you body is poised to move.
Talk- Talk to yourself, tell yourself that you are in a strong position and hype up your up and coming shot.
No Statue- Don't stay completely still, slight movement is advisable, look at how the top players move in their set-up prior to hitting the ball.
Find a Trigger- A trigger to start the swing is advisable it will help your brain say go! Common triggers are a slight movement with the right knee towards the target and then you can start your back swing of the recoil of your body, another popular one is a forward press of the hands towards the target.
Stay in Rhythm- Keep your swing smooth especially you back swing, don't rush the shot,
