Hogans Pane of Glass with Adam Scott Direct Golf Tuition Instruction

Another example of our member's side, to help you learn to get the most out of your golf game, along with your Online Golf Lessons, we explain Ben Hogan's Pane of Glass using tour player Adam Scott as an example.
Ben Hogan was a pioneer of the game with a fantastic work ethic often practicing for long periods of the day on the golf range, bashing balls working on his swing, swinging in slow motion. There is a story which has been passed around that whilst spending 9 hours of solid practice on the range perfecting his golf swing Hogan only actually struck 2 golf balls. Now we don't know how accurate that story is but Ben Hogan was a perfectionist and we can quite easily him imagine him repeating his swing thousands of times, with well executed practice swings. This shows the dedication of this great man and one of the reasons why his book, "The five modern fundamentals of golf", is one of the greatest books ever written.
The five fundamentals include Grip, Posture, Magic Move, The Waggle and The Pane of Glass.

What is the Pane of Glass?

Well Ben Hogan believed that when he was in his set-up position, there was a large pane of glass angled from the ball through his shoulder position. He imagined that there was a large hole in this glass so that his head could poke through. Ben Hogan's idea was to swing the golf club underneath this line in the back swing and also down into impact and into the extension, without breaking the glass. The club would come across the line eventually in his follow through. Ben Hogan believed if he could manage this then his golf swing would be on the perfect angle around his body and he would be a powerful and accurate striker of the golf ball. Which he was!

The Pane of glass is represented by the blue line in the video, Notice how Adam Scott swings the club beautifully underneath the glass for a powerful accurate golf swing.
